5th anniversary of the WOMAI Centre

5th anniversary of the WOMAI Centre

On 12 and 13 October, we celebrated our 5th BIRTHDAY at WOMAI! It was a very special weekend.

From heartfelt moments to joyous celebrations, our community came together to celebrate this amazing journey. There were smiles, laughter and even a few happy tears.

On both days, visitors explored our interactive exhibitions “Into the Light” and "Into the darkness". In addition, there were explosive experiments shows. Our mad scientists demonstrated how to scientifically defeat a dragon.

On Saturday 12 October, extremely interesting lectures took place. One of them, “Umwelten: Worlds hidden from the human senses”, led by Marcin Skotniczny, was about the senses and the separate worlds we create through them. The second meeting “They are between us” with Lucyna Zaleska focused on the functioning of blind people.

The WOMAI Centre was visited by a special guest - Ms Anna Dymna, a wonderful actress, full of warmth and friendliness, creator of the Anna Dymna Foundation “Mimo Wszystko”. She visited the exhibition “Into the darkness” with a blind guide, and then read poems by the winners of the poetry competition “Words, it is good that you are!”. These were works by blind people. Among them were also works by one of the guides from the “Into the darkness” exhibition, Szymon Vasilowicz.

On Sunday, the only concert in total darkness in Poland took place. The concert programme included songs by Frank Sinatra, John Mayer, Eva Cassidy and Marek Grechuta, among others. Listening to music performed by blind people from WOMAI was an extraordinary experience.

WOMAI's birthday party included face painting, glow-in-the-dark tattoos, sweets and a prize draw.

Dear guests, we would like to thank you for these 5 years! We appreciate you being with us on the weekend of 12-13 October.

We encourage you to view the photo report.
