Soon in October the Center of Science and Senses WOMAI will celebrate its 5th BIRTHDAY!
We would like to invite you to a special celebration on 12 and 13 October at 34 Pawia Street in Krakow between 10:00 and 20:00.

You will learn the secrets of the Wawel Dragon during EXPERIMENTAL SHOWS. on 12 and 13 October w godz. 12:00-13:00 our mad scientists will show you how to scientifically defeat the dragon. During the hour-long show, you will discover how explosive and full of twists fun experimenting with chemistry and physics can be. Children and young people aged 5-15 with their parents are invited. A popular science lecture “Umwelten: Worlds hidden from the human senses” will be held on 12 October from 14:00 to 15:00. It will be hosted by Marcin Skotniczny who is a psychologist with a passion for cognitive neuroscience and, in particular, the topic of sensory perception. He is also the founder of the Umweltung Lab project. During the meeting, you will find out why catfish are a swimming tongue, why ravens are really colourful and whether you can hear smells. The senses and the separate worlds we create through them will be explored in an unusual way. Children and young people from the age of 10 with their parents are welcome. There will also be a MEETING “THEY ARE BETWEEN US” on October 12 from 17:00 to 18:30 during which we will discuss important issues concerning the functioning of blind people. The meeting will be chaired by Lucyna Zaleska who is a teacher of spatial orientation and mobility, working at the Complex of Schools and Institutions called “Center for the Blind and Visually Impaired” in Cracow. The purpose of the meeting is to engage in an open dialogue about the challenges and possible solutions in the area of accessibility. People over the age of 15 are invited to the free meeting. On 13 October from 17:00 to 18:30 there will be the only CONCERT IN TOTAL DARKNESS in Poland. It will be an unforgettable musical experience that will transport you to a world of sound without sight. Blind people from the WOMAI Center will perform, including pianist, organist and composer Piotr Krzysztof Tarasewicz and jazzman Szymon Wasiłowicz. The concert programme includes songs by, among others, Frank Sinatra, John Mayer, Eva Cassidy and Marek Grechuta. Persons aged 15 and over are invited to attend. You will be able to visit INTERACTIVE EXHIBITIONS on Saturday October 12 from 10:00 am to 8:00 pm and Sunday October 13 from 10:00 am to 5:00 pm - “Into the light” i “Into the darkness”. Tickets can be found on our website at special promotional prices.
Especially for the little ones, there will be free FACE PAINTING on 12 and 13 October from 12:00 to 16:00.
In addition, everyone who comes to our birthday party will take part in a prize draw for prizes related to the Center. There will be balloons, sweets and glow-in-the-dark tattoos.
