Women And Girls Day In Science 11.02.24

11 February marks the International Day of Women and Girls in Science, a holiday established by the UN General Assembly in 2015. The aim of the Day is to support efforts to recognise the crucial role played by women and girls in scientific and technological environments. Their creativity, commitment, courage, and intelligence translate into extraordinary discoveries in science. Unfortunately, many women and girls around the world have difficult access to education and career development in science.

To celebrate this special day, we would like to introduce you to some of the women who have conquered the world of science. Do you know Maria Skłodowska-Curie, Poland's two-time Nobel Prize winner? How about Rosalind Franklin, Katherine Johnson or Maria Goeppert Mayer? You can find out about them and many other inspiring women of science in the video (link below).

If you would like to find out even more about science, you are warmly invited to visit the interactive exhibition "Into the light" at the WOMAI Centre.
