International Day of the Blind

International Day of the Blind 13.11.23

Close your eyes, what do you see? Darkness? Do you know what a blind person sees? Do you know how many blind people live in Poland and around the world?

In Poland, the number of blind people is estimated at over 100 000. There are over 36 million of them worldwide. By 2050, their number is expected to increase to about 115 million.

Soon, 13 November will be International Day of the Blind. This holiday, celebrated since 1943, commemorates the anniversary of the birth of Valentin Haüy, founder of the first school for the blind in Paris. The aim of the Day is to bring the problems of the blind and visually impaired to the public.

At WOMAI, we will also be celebrating the International Day of the Blind. Therefore, on 13 November, by choosing the exhibition "Into the darkness", you will receive a 20% discount! Enter total darkness for an hour and learn about the world of the blind. Find out what a blind person sees, how to help a blind person and what Braille is. Tickets for purchase are available through our website. The number of places is limited.
You are warmly welcome!

PS. We are preparing something special. Keep an eye on the WOMAI Centre's Facebook and Instagram page and you'll find out on 13 November what it will be.
