Light is present in our everyday life and science in the 21st century. It has made possible revolutionary discoveries in medicine, the development of international communication via the Internet, and the search for solutions to many of the economic, social and cultural problems of global society.

What is light? What is ultraviolet (UV) light used for? What is the speed of light?

We are happy to answer these questions and provide more interesting facts about light. You are cordially invited to celebrate the LIGHT MONTH with the Center for Science and Senses WOMAI, as well as the International Day of Light.

This annual celebration takes place on 16 May, the anniversary of the first successful laser operation in 1960 by physicist and engineer Theodore Maiman. It was established by UNESCO in 2017.

To celebrate Light Day on 16 and 17 May, you will receive a special 20% discount on a selected interactive exhibition "Into the light" or "Into the darkness". In addition, there will be a special prepared scientific curiosity about light, only available at WOMAI. And all this with family or friends, combining science with fun and experiencing unforgettable things! To take advantage of the discount, simply purchase a discounted ticket at www.womai.pl , and show your ticket and mention the discount password LIGHT before visiting.

Throughout May, you will find question and answer cards about light at WOMAI. In addition, every monday this month, a new post with a dose of light knowledge will appear on Facebook in the event "LIGHT MONTH AT WOMAI", Instagram and Google.
