About the team and the exhibition "Into the light"

WHAT SETS US APART

WOMAI is a place where we have the opportunity to develop our ability to understand the phenomena around us from the perspective of sciences such as physics, chemistry, mathematics or history. The solid foundation of the Center is physics, which seems to be the biggest school nightmare. That is why we actively guide for an hour and a half, carrying out experiments and vividly explaining the phenomena. Knowledge is combined with culture here, and science is above all a living experience under the watchful eye of the guides.

A FEW WORDS ABOUT THE EXHIBITION

We tell the story of the exhibition in an attractive and age-appropriate way for visitors to the Center. We combine elements of the exhibition into a story about the potential of light. We start with those who made important discoveries - for example Maria Skłodowska-Curie, Leonardo da Vinci or Michael Faraday. Then we stop shadows, mix different frequencies of light, look at optical illusions and walk on the ceiling - and this is only part of the exhibition.

We often hear that the apparent obviousness that makes up the world around us is rediscovered here at WOMAI. Guests are in for a surprise in the form of a tidy portion of news, experiments and fun. We begin our adventure into the world of phenomena hidden and invisible to the naked eye. And reality takes on a colourful appearance.

Perceiving science through the senses turns out to be an activity that opens up new and fascinating ways of thinking. It is a change that makes us look at the world more closely, aware that there is still much to discover.

THE TEAM "INTO THE LIGHT"

As guides at WOMAI, we are first and foremost individuals, so the ways in which we impart knowledge vary. Each of us speaks from a position of different research interests, as illustrated by the fields of study we have undertaken, our interests and, above all, our various guiding styles.

The guides of the exhibition "Into the light" are interested in medicinal chemistry, Cosplay, nuclear physics, psychology, the unknown Amazon, scouting, hermeneutics, voice emission, geography, amber, theatre. They study physics, psychology, archaeology, art history, Latin American studies, architecture, anthropological and cultural Polish studies.

We would like to thank everyone who has already accepted our invitation and visited the WOMAI Center for Science and Senses. For those who have not yet met us, we warmly invite you to visit the exhibition “Into the light” and encourage you to talk to us!
