Nikola Tesla

Discover the mystery of the Universe - Tesla's magic numbers

The inventor of the radio, the generator and the electric motor, who combines science and mysticism in a remarkably harmonious way - Nikola Tesla, as he is referred to in this article, impressed me with his uniqueness from the very first moment I prepared to tell about him at the WOMAI Centre.

The young inventor

Did you know that he was constructing various inventions from a very young age? I think I won't lie when I say that he had an uphill battle in this regard from childhood - in elementary school he assembled an engine powered by beetles, I kid you not! How did such an engine work? I'm already explaining - one of the components of this device was a windmill, to which the young Tesla tied beetles. Each time the insects attempted to soar through the air, they set the wings of the windmill in motion. The beetle-powered engine didn’t live to see international success, however, because Tesla's schoolmate ate the bugs that powered it.

Passion and persistence

Do you already understand what I wrote about earlier? Tesla had to fight all his life for his inventions, which were either destroyed or stolen. However, despite all the hurdles thrown at his feet, this amazing scientist did not abandon his passion for creating and discovering what is unique in the world.

Magic numbers - what's behind them

I could elaborate on Tesla's inventions and scientific genius, creating an elaboration of a dozen pages, but let's get to the point. Numbers, because they are the focus of this article, or rather, the magic numbers are 3 and its multiples: 6 and 9. Tesla is said to have used to say "if you learned the magnificence of the numbers three, six and nine, you would also learn the key to the Universe."

It can be said that our Great Mind had a kind of obsession with the aforementioned numbers. It was not uncommon for him to perform daily activities several times, so as to obtain the sum of the number three or its multiples. Tesla also based many of his inventions and scientific achievements on the number three and its multiples. At this point, it is worth looking at multi-phase electric motors or the concept of three-phase alternating current, which regularly and cyclically changes its direction.

Trigonometry the basis for understanding the Universe

To get a good understanding of the uniqueness of Tesla's numbers, it's worth explaining what's behind them. The key word in this part of the article is trigonometry - a branch of mathematics that focuses on the study of the relationship between the lengths of the sides of a triangle and the measures of its interior angles. Based on mathematical models, as it were, we can understand the workings of the world around us, its cyclic nature and almost all the principles that guide it. Thus, the key functions of sine and cosine in trigonometry can be the answer to the aforementioned cyclic nature.

Mathematical description of the world

Many scientists believe that the entire world around us is created with mathematical precision - we find symmetry (look at honeycombs), repetition (seasons) and principles that can be written down and mathematically explained. Tesla also recognized this inseparable connection between the visible world and the invisible principles that define it.
