On 17 September we went to the National Fire Service. We had the honour and pleasure of providing training to fantastic people who look after your health and even your life on a daily basis.
Blind Konrad and Jacek introduced the firefighters to their world through practical blindfolded exercises. The trainees counted money, folded clothes, recognised spices, tested their touch and learned about Braille.
We talked about how to evacuate blind people in different places, the importance of communication and what a blind person should take when evacuating. Firefighters taught how to walk with a white cane. They demonstrated to Konrad and Jacek what blind people can expect during operations carried out by the Fire Brigade.
Fire and Rescue Unit No. 4 in Krakow - thank you for the invitation. We learnt a lot from the training.
We encourage you to view the photo report.
