On 6 April, the spring edition of the “Health under control” campaign was held at the Serenada Centre. The event was organised by the International Federation of Medical Students' Associations IFMSA-Poland Kraków South Branch.

The aim of the project was to promote a healthy lifestyle, draw attention to health problems in the modern world, and emphasise the role of prevention. During the action, not only basic preventive examinations were carried out, such as blood pressure and glycaemic levels, but also HIV, HCV and syphilis tests with the One World Association. There was an opportunity for pre-screening of eyesight and hearing.

The Center for Science and Senses WOMAI also took part in the action. We prepared a sensory workshop where a blind person talked about the impact of diseases, for instance diabetes, on sight, as well as the lives and passions of blind people. There were lots of sensory games, reading Braille inscriptions from medicine packs, running an obstacle course with a white cane and much more.

We encourage you to check out the event organiser's profile.
