Frequently asked questions
‘Into the darkness’ is an extraordinary experience that allows participants to completely switch off their sense of sight and trust their other senses. In total darkness, with no sources of light, participants embark on a unique journey guided by a blind person. They lead the group through different spaces, share stories, provide support, and offer a completely new perspective on reality.
Participants learn to navigate without sight, using touch, hearing, smell, and balance. The tour consists of three parts: the visit in darkness, a lecture with the blind guide, and workshops on Braille and assistive technologies for the visually impaired. It’s not only a fascinating challenge but also a deeply moving encounter with another way of perceiving the world.
‘Into the darkness’ is an experience that helps to understand the everyday life of people who are blind. It teaches empathy, openness, and mindfulness toward others. It’s one of those exhibitions that doesn’t end when you leave – it stays in your memory, changes the way you think, and encourages reflection.
Reservations for organized groups can only be made by contacting the Center – by phone at +48 12 313 23 59 or by email at womai.krakow@gmail.com. In your request, please include the number of participants, the number of guardians, the chosen attraction(s), and your preferred date and time of the visit. Please note: sending a request does not guarantee a reservation – it will only be confirmed once you receive a reply from a Center staff member.
The maximum number of participants per visit to the exhibition is 36 – this limit applies only to participants; guardians are not included. One guardian is allowed free of charge for every 8 participants. For groups larger than 8 participants, the tour is divided into a maximum of four subgroups. Each subgroup has its own guide, starts and ends the tour at the same time, and sees the entire exhibition. The Center staff decides on the number and composition of subgroups, prioritizing the comfort and safety of visitors.
We encourage choosing an attraction package that allows you to make the most of your visit to our Center and makes the experience even more special! A great way to enhance the tour is by adding scientific content, selecting the ‘into the light’ path and/or an experiment show. Choosing a package of two attractions costs 80 PLN per person, and three attractions cost 110 PLN per person. More experiences, more learning, more fun!
