Earth - our unique and special home in the cosmos. It is estimated that the knowledge we have about our planet is roughly 5-20% of what we could know. So as much as about 80-95% of what is happening on our planet in all possible areas remains unknown. This shows how much we still have to know and understand about our planet.

What do we know about it?

Earth is the third from the Sun and the fifth largest planet in the solar system. For many years it was considered the centre of the Universe. It was not until Nicolaus Copernicus discovered that the Sun was the fixed point around which all other celestial bodies revolve. Since its creation, the Earth is probably the only planet on which life exists. It is home to 8 billion people, as well as millions of animal and plant species.

Do you know when the Earth was formed? What shape does it have? What does its atmosphere consist of? How many continents and oceans are there on it? When will life on Earth come to the end?

We will be happy to answer questions and provide you with more interesting facts about our planet. You are cordially invited to celebrate EARTH MONTH with Center for Science and Senses WOMAI, as well as International Earth Day.

It is an annual event celebrated on 22 April to promote environmentally friendly attitudes in society, to build shared responsibility, and to make people aware of the dangers of industrial development. It was established in 1970 in the United States, in connection with an environmental disaster that occurred off the US coast in 1969. According to initial estimates, several hundred thousand gallons of oil leaked into the ocean from a damaged oil rig, leading to the deaths of thousands of birds, dolphins and other marine animals and devastating the environment for many years.

To celebrate Earth Day on 21 and 22 April, you will receive a special 20% discount on a selected interactive exhibition, and there will also be draw for a wooden jigsaw puzzle with scientific elements. And all this with family or friends, combining science with fun and experiencing unforgettable things! To take advantage of the discount, simply purchase a discounted ticket at www.womai.pl , and show your ticket and mention the discount password EARTH before visiting.

Throughout April at WOMAI you will find cards with scientific curiosities about our planet. In addition, a new post with a dose of Earth knowledge will appear every Wednesday this month on Facebook in the event „MIESIĄC ZIEMI W WOMAI”, Instagram and Google. We warmly invite you to join WOMAI and follow our social media profiles!
