Did you know that sport has a positive impact on our physical, mental and social development? Regular physical activity improves health, increases physical fitness and develops motor skills.

There are many sports. One of these is swimming, which is an all-round sport. On 14 January, enthusiasts of this sport took part in the 21st Swim Test Family Festival in Krakow. The WOMAI Centre, a partner of the event, organised a unique attraction for those waiting during the swimming competition.

The attraction was a sensory workshop in which a blind person showed their world. There were sensory games, writing names in Braille, walking with a white cane, as well as talks about sport. Can a blind person be an athlete? Of course they can. One example is Paweł Król, a guide at the “Into the darkness” exhibition, who has been training Brazilian jujitsu for years and taking part in many sporting events. He has swum, cycled and run in Ironman triathlon competitions.

Many thanks to the organiser Swim Test for the invitation and the opportunity to promote education through sport.
