We have just completed an extremely valuable training session on working with pupils with disabilities, attended by teachers and headteachers from schools in Żory.
Under the guidance of Sylwia Kołodziej, participants gained the practical knowledge essential for the day-to-day education of children and young people with diverse needs. Reliable information was seamlessly interwoven with moments of reflection and laughter, and theory with practice. Teachers experienced first-hand the perspective of a blind person whilst visiting the ‘Towards Darkness’ exhibition and navigating an obstacle course with a white cane and their eyes covered.
We would like to thank the participants for their tremendous commitment and willingness to share their experiences. Special thanks also go to EnSafe. One for providing evacuation equipment, which enabled us to demonstrate ready-made solutions in action.
Together, we are building a school that is fully accessible to every pupil. Would you like to organise a similar, bespoke training session for your school and equip your team with practical tools? Contact us to arrange a suitable date: womai.krakow@gmail.com.
